Server-side tagging

Boost your data quality with server-side tagging

Server-side tagging (server-side Google Tag Manager) moves tag processing from the user's browser to a server. You gain better website performance, stronger data security and resilience to ad blockers — while your advertising campaigns get more accurate conversion data. Implementation and maintenance are on us. From just PLN 300 net / month.

What is server-side tagging

Server-side tagging moves tag processing from the user's browser to a dedicated server. Instead of multiple scripts executing in the browser, the data first reaches your server-side Google Tag Manager and is sent from there to analytics and advertising platforms. The result: the website loads faster, the data is more complete, and measurement is more resilient to browser restrictions and ad-blocking extensions.

This solution carries real business weight today. Browsers are increasingly restricting client-side tracking — shortening cookie lifetimes and blocking third-party scripts — while users adopt ad blockers en masse. In practice, that means some conversions "disappear" from your reports, and advertising algorithms optimize campaigns on incomplete data. Server-side tagging recovers that lost measurement quality.

What benefits server-side GTM delivers

Moving tags to the server translates into concrete benefits:

  • Better data quality and completeness — fewer events lost to blockers and browser restrictions, more accurate conversion measurement.
  • Higher website performance — fewer scripts executing in the browser lighten the load on the user's device and speed up page loading.
  • Resilience to ad blockers — collecting data on the server side reduces the impact of ad blockers and browser restrictions.
  • Centralized tag management — all tags in one place, easier to control, update and secure.
  • Greater security and control — you decide which data is sent, and to which platforms.

Server-side tagging vs classic (client-side) tagging

In classic, client-side tagging, all tags — Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Pixel and others — run directly in the user's browser. It is simpler to implement, but that is exactly where blockers, cookie restrictions and performance overhead take their toll. In the server-side model, the browser communicates only with your server (on your own subdomain), and the server handles distributing the data to the individual platforms. For advertising campaigns this means more accurate conversion measurement — which directly improves the performance of Google Ads advertising and Facebook campaigns.

Which platforms server-side tagging supports

The solution supports, among others, Google tags (GA4, Google Ads), Meta (Facebook), TikTok and many other advertising and analytics platforms. Conversions from different systems are measured consistently and from a single data source. For high-traffic websites we use a load balancer distributing the load across up to 17 machines — the solution scales even at very high event volumes.

What you need to do to implement the solution

We take on the entire implementation. All that remains on your side is granting access to Google Tag Manager and, if needed, a small subdomain configuration for the server-side tag manager. We handle the launch, tag configuration and verification. The service is flexible with no long-term commitment — typically available from just PLN 300 net per month.

As a result, the website loads faster, and the data is more complete and more resilient to browser restrictions and ad-blocking extensions.
What benefits does server-side GTM deliver?
Server-side tagging improves website performance, increases the completeness and quality of collected data, reduces the impact of ad blockers and browser restrictions, and centralizes tag management in one place. This translates directly into better optimization of advertising campaigns, which gain more accurate conversion data.
Is implementing server-side tagging difficult?
We take on the entire implementation. All that remains on your side is granting access and, if needed, a small subdomain configuration.
What do I need to do to implement the solution?
Simply grant us access to Google Tag Manager and configure the subdomain that will host the server-side tag manager. We take care of the rest.

The solution supports, among others, Google tags (GA4, Google Ads), Meta (Facebook), TikTok and many other advertising and analytics platforms.
What about high-traffic websites?
