How the product feed and Merchant Center work
The heart of every Shopping campaign is the product feed — an XML file containing the data of all products: name, description, price, availability, photo, and identifiers. The feed goes into Google Merchant Center, from which Google pulls the information shown in the ads. It is crucial that the file updates automatically at least once a day — then the prices and availability in the ads always match what the customer sees in the store.
